5 Ways to Style Metal Flower Wall Art in Your Home

Gold floral metal wall decor panel above a sofa in a modern living room

A bare wall makes even a well-furnished room feel unfinished. Metal flower wall art fixes that in one move: it adds texture, catches the light, and brings the softness of florals without anything to water.

The trick is placing it well. Here are five ways to style it, with the measurements that make each one work.

First, the two rules that apply everywhere

  • Hang it at eye level. The centre of the piece should sit about 145–150 cm from the floor when it hangs on an open wall.
  • Size it to the furniture below. Above a sofa, bed or console, wall art should be about two-thirds the width of the furniture.

1. The statement piece above the sofa

This is the classic, and for good reason. A wide floral panel above the sofa turns the living room wall into a focal point. Leave 20–25 cm between the top of the sofa and the bottom of the art so they read as one composition.

A 134 cm panel sits perfectly above a sofa of around 200 cm.

2. A softer headboard wall in the bedroom

Above the bed, metal florals add warmth without the weight of a heavy frame. Choose gold or champagne tones to keep the room calm, and centre the piece on the bed, not the wall.

3. A welcome in the entrance

The entrance is the first wall guests see. Pair a medium floral piece with a slim console and a table lamp, and the hallway instantly feels designed. Pieces around 60–80 cm wide suit most entrance walls.

4. A rising display on the staircase

Staircase walls are often forgotten. Hang two or three pieces in a diagonal line that follows the steps, keeping the same height above each step so the arrangement climbs with the stairs.

5. A single piece on a quiet wall

Sometimes the most striking choice is one piece on an empty wall, with nothing around it. Add a wall light or spotlight angled at it, and the metal petals cast soft shadows in the evening.

  • About two-thirds the width of the furniture below
